Technomics Sponsors Five Presentations at the 2010 ISPA/SCEA Conference
Technomics analysts made five presentations at the 2010 ISPA/SCEA Conference and Training Workshop, held June 8-11 in San Diego, CA. K. Cincotta, a senior cost analyst, made two presentations. Presentations were also made by Shawn Rudolph, James Glenn, and Brian Torgersen/Rick Collins. Technomics CEO Recognized by SCEA
Technomics’ CEO Rick Collins was awarded the 2010 SCEA National Estimator/Analyst of the Year Award for Contributions in Management - one of the five awards presented at the 2010 ISPA/SCEA Conference. Collins received the award for his efforts to: promote and enhance the profession; foster membership growth; integrate estimating and other cost disciplines; recognize and certify achievement; promote cost estimating discussion forums; promote standards of proficiency and performance; foster, promote and conduct research and education; interact with other related organizations and establish standards in the terminology, conduct and application of cost estimating and analysis. [Full Story]

Technomics Analysts Recognized by GAO
Jack Smuck and Bob Meyer received a “Results through Teamwork Award” from Gene Dodaro, acting Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) at GAO Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Smuck and Meyer were recognized for their efforts in creating the “Cost Estimating and Assessment Guide: Best Practices for Estimating and Managing Capital Program Costs.”

The document is designed to establish consistent cost estimating standards and procedures based on industry best practices for use across all federal government programs for developing, managing and evaluating capital program cost estimates.

Joe Caico and Chris Seat were recently recognized by the Above Water Sensors Major Program Manager L.E. Creevy for their support of the Navy's Surface Electronic Warfare Improvements Program (SEWIP). Technomics at Cape Canaveral

Technomics Analysts Scott DeNegre and Colleen Craig visited the United Launch Alliance (ULA) capability at Cape Canaveral, FL and were able to learn about the booster and satellite launch process -- as well as seeing a Delta IV rocket up close. DeNegre and Craig (3rd and 4th from left) are standing in front of the Delta IV with Larry Homuth (ULA), Al Brandts (ULA) and John Tomick, Department of Defense Cost Analysis and Maj. Robert Swearingen. They also visited the launch pad. The trip helped them in their work with the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle.

On January 15, Team Technomics kicked off its first annual volleyball season by participating in the Arlington Athletic & Social League coed volleyball league. The season ended on February 19. 3rd Annual Ping-Pong Tourney

The 3rd annual Poobah Ping-Pong tourney proved to be a nail-biter, as the Mature (30+ age bracket) and Young teams battled back and forth for the lead during the February 2nd event. In the end, the Young team couldn’t quite seal the deal, and were defeated 231-250. Smack-talking aside, it was a close match and William Laing, Mature Team captain accepted the win graciously. This makes two wins for the Mature Team, in years 2009 and 2011 but Young team captain Scott DeNegre knows there is always next year.
